My expectations for this trip is to be able to see first hand the wildlife that Tanzania has to offer, to be immersed in the culture of the area, and be able to explore a new continent. To prepare for this trip I have read both books, research my taxa and methods, and received vaccines. I hope to learn a lot about the wildlife in Tanzania and about different methods that scientists use to understand the natural world. I am a little nervous about losing my luggage, as I have had problems with that in the past, but otherwise I am super excited! I am the most excited about the possibility to see elephants in the wild as they used to be my favorite animal. I do not have any experience in the tropics, the closest is the humidity of Houston. Overall, I am super excited to embark on this amazing opportunity and to learn a lot!
