This blog post is made possible by Toyota LandCruisers, AK-47s, and viewers like you.
Today we said goodbye to the Ecoscience Lodge and spent the majority of the morning travelling to the Ngorongoro Forest Lodge. Now, this is where I must admit that I am writing this blog on the 20th, which means that my perspective on certain events has changed a bit. For example, if I had written this on the 19th, I would have made no mention of my appreciation for paved roads, despite our three hour drive. Additionally, I would have likely praised the water they gave us at the Forest lodge as clean and definitely not something that would make me violently ill. But anyways, after lunch we drove to the Endoro Falls trail, where we were led by three men, two of whom were armed with AK-47s, through the forest and to one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen.
What we found is called the “Elephant Cave” because it is literally a cave carved by elephants who are licking the salt in the soil. I can’t really describe how funny looking it was, so I will attach photos.
As amazing as the elephants were on the first day, there is something different entirely about running into them on foot. And to supplement that amazing experience, we finished off the hike with a stop at the Endoro Waterfall. Then we drove back and I was so tired that everything is a blur from there. Anyways.
